Lee Jong Suk is buying kids' clothes. In Florence. With a price tag... um... a hefty one, worthy of his status.

Now, that's a pretty weird shopping list for a single guy.

But not so weird if some changes are happening in that single guy's life.

And what does a diamond-encrusted keychain have to do with it, you ask?

Okay, enough joking — all in good fun. Still, the latest episode of Lee Jong Suk's vlog grabbed attention precisely because of this shopping spree, which probably took place back in May.

On June 4, 2026, Lee Jong Suk posted a video on his personal YouTube channel titled "Lee Jong Suk's Italian Romantic Exploration Diary, Part 2." The video captures his trip to Florence for a photo shoot.

Strolling through the city (Florence, of all places!), Lee Jong Suk spotted a kids' clothing boutique and made a beeline for it. I mean, where else would you make a beeline in Florence? He then stocked up on children's outfits, taking his sweet time picking them out.

Lee Jong Suk said at the time: "There are lots of babies around me, and here's a kids' clothing store. I thought Florentine style would make a nice gift, so I picked out a few things. Once I started choosing, I wanted to buy clothes for every little one — for this kid, for that one."

Later, Lee Jong Suk dropped by an accessories shop and bought a keychain adorned with diamonds and emeralds. At first he misread the price and thought it was relatively cheap, but it turned out to be way higher than expected. Taking another look at the €1,380 price tag (about 2.45 million won), Lee Jong Suk couldn't hide his bewilderment.

Lee Jong Suk is a very experienced actor, and he knows perfectly well how a star should behave in public — especially when filming and uploading a blog. He also knows all about screenshots ripped out of context and twisted by fans' imaginations.

And those screenshots didn't take long to appear. They were made and spread across online media outlets on June 7–8.

Fans of the IU — Lee Jong Suk couple, who were already on edge about the "June 2026" date (when, according to fan mythology, the star wedding might happen), saw the keychain and the kids' stuff and got a little nervous. In hushed tones, they whispered: "Could IU be...?!"

But then Lee Jong Suk somewhat curtailed the public's fantasies by giving all those kids' clothes to his stunned photographer. The surprised staff member was deeply touched. So in reality, the actor just wanted to take care of his colleague and give a gift to his children.

But of course, any fan who can interpret anything through the lens of Freud, Jung, Castaneda, or Madame Lenormand can easily — as easy as pie — interpret buying kids' clothes for a coworker's children as Lee Jong Suk's unconscious desire to buy such things for his own kids (the possibility of a sponsorship deal we dismiss immediately as unromantic).

To be fair, there's nothing terrible about that interpretation. The couple has been together for so long (and Lee Jong Suk has been in love even longer) that any day you could say: "Well, if not now, then when?!" Otherwise IU will run off to star in yet another rom-com drama and have on-screen chemistry with some sexy Byeon Woo Seok again — and then just try to carve out a wedding date in that jam-packed schedule.
