On September 10, 2026, the South Korean drama «The Ordinary Jackpot» (로또 1등도 출근합니다) premiered on TVING. On September 14, the series will also be released on tvN.

Starring Lee Joon Hyuk («Love Scout», «The Art of Sarah»), Seo Hyun Woo («Our Movie», «Uncle Samsik»), Oh Dae Hwan («New Recruit», «Filing for Love») and Ok Ja Yun («Under The Queen's Umbrella», «Mine»).

The project is based on the web novel of the same name by Seo In Ha. The life of an ordinary office worker changes dramatically after a huge lottery win, but he makes an unexpected decision - not to quit, but to keep going to work.

The main character, Kong Eun Tae (Lee Joon Hyuk), works as head of the sales department at «Hongseong International». He is a typical employee who day after day endures pressure from his bosses and colleagues, gradually burning out.

Suddenly he wins 1.3 billion won (net) in the lottery, about $960,000. Gong Eun Tae's life takes on new meaning.

Despite the substantial sum, it is not enough to live comfortably for the rest of his life, so Kong Eun Tae decides to stay at the company, but now he has a psychological safety net. This decision sets off a chain of events that change the atmosphere in the office and the main character's relationships with those around him.

After seven years at the company, Kong Eun Tae had become a team leader. But because of his age and lack of experience, other teams pushed him aside, forced him to do tasks everyone else avoided, and even took his projects away from him. Within his team, he had to endure complaints from assistant manager Yang Jun Ho (Seo Hyun Woo), his senior colleague, who was constantly dissatisfied and also envied him. His superiors demanded concessions, while his subordinates took his care for granted. The situation was similar outside work. Kong Eun Tae cannot protest even when the dry cleaner loses his clothes. At a convenience store, when he offers cash because his card payment failed due to a terminal error, he is told there is no change. Even buying two cans of beer does not go smoothly. He took that winning lottery ticket as change. It is both funny and sad: unable to fight back or actively seek his own luck, he literally comes into a huge sum of money by chance.

At the beginning of the series, the main character is portrayed as completely burnt out. Small conflicts and small blows to his feelings and dignity piled up like a snowball. At the same time, he could not even express his dissatisfaction and carefully chose his words so as not to show his discomfort. His face is guarded, detached, listless. He suppresses all complaints, despair, and anger.

Only when Kong Eun Tae checks the winning numbers does his whole body finally react. He checks the numbers again and again, shouts, and does not sleep all night. Lee Joon Hyuk's performance captures the transition from an exhausted office worker to a free, independent person. Because his emotions had been suppressed so thoroughly before, the joy comes through even more powerfully.

Once he receives the money, he becomes independent of the office situation. In a bank scene, when asked what he will do with the money, he answers: «I will get angry». He does not buy things or go on a trip, but gains the right to express dissatisfaction. And he starts immediately. He stops turning a blind eye to his colleagues' rudeness, unfair treatment, and the way he is ignored. Office life gradually changes.

Filming took place from June to November 2025. At a press conference held on September 8, 2026 in Seoul, the actors and director shared details about working on the project.

Lee Joon Hyuk noted that he feels a strong resemblance to his character: «I have also been working for almost 20 years and have appeared in more than 50 projects. Much of Eun Tae's dialogue resembled my own life».

Seo Hyun Woo said that the atmosphere on set resembled the Chuseok holiday: «The ensemble was so good that I think it shows on screen».

Oh Dae Hwan humorously noted that he envied the cohesion of Team 5, since his character on Team 4 often remained alone.

Director Yoon Young Bin praised Lee Joon Hyuk for his professionalism, calling him the most conscientious person he knows, and added that «his diligence surpasses even his looks». He also said: «Kong Eun Tae tries his best to fulfill his role as a family member at home and a team member at work. However, like any kind and hardworking person, he eventually gets tired. Perhaps Kong Eun Tae has lost himself and is living the life others expect of him. Ultimately, this story will also be a process of Kong Eun Tae returning to his true «self»».
