The romantic comedy "Sympathetic Cells" (Empathy Cell, 공감세포, Mirror Neurons) is gearing up for its premiere.

The 6-episode drama stars Kim Myung Soo (L of INFINITE) ("Secret Royal Inspector: Joseon Secret Investigation Team", "Angel's Last Mission: Love"), Kang Min Ah ("Miracle", "At a Distance, Spring Is Green"), and Kwon So Hyun ("Murderer's Shopping List", "My Perfect Stranger").

Filming for the drama took place from January 31 to April 16, 2026.

At the center of the story is a man forced to bear the burden of others' emotions and a woman who, on the contrary, completely rejects empathy. The protagonist, Cha Eun Hwang (Kim Myung Soo), is a popular psychologist who uses unique counselling methods. He is acutely sensitive to the experiences of others but pays no attention to his own emotional wounds. An unexpected incident shatters his emotional balance. In a moment of despair, he meets Yoo Chi An (Kang Min Ah), a former member of a popular group once called a "national idol" and now an actress. Since childhood, the girl has been accustomed to suppressing her feelings under her mother's strict control, which has led to professional problems: the public considers her acting insincere. A chance encounter with Cha Eun Hwang triggers a process of "emotional transfer." The protagonists begin to feel each other's experiences and gradually rediscover their own emotions.

In the first published stills, Kim Myung Soo appears in two guises: a benevolent counsellor with a gentle smile and a man whose gaze betrays anxiety and fear. According to the creators, Kim Myung Soo subtly conveys both emotional warmth and suppressed inner pain.

Kang Min Ah plays a star who lacks empathy. The actress added charm and uniqueness to her character.

One of the lead roles also features Kwon So Hyun (former member of 4Minute). The singer and actress plays Han Yi Jin, a former member of the same group as Kang Min Ah's character, now a rival in the acting world. Her character suffers from wounded pride and jealousy toward her more successful friend.

The drama is directed by Kim Chil Bong, who worked on projects such as "Numbers" and "The Second Husband". This marks his second collaboration with Kim Myung Soo, who previously appeared in his "Numbers".

The premiere of the drama "Sympathetic Cells" will take place on July 4, 2026 at 10:50 p.m. korean time on the cable channel Lifetime, the LG U+tv mobile platform, and the streaming service Disney+.
