Jung So Min ("Alchemy of Souls", "Love Next Door") and Kim Yo Han ("The Winning Try", "The 4th Love Revolution") are set to star in the historical fantasy drama provisionally titled "Seventeenth Day of Rising Sun Month" (해오름달 열이레).

Both actors have confirmed their casting.

The original Korean title "해오름달 열이레" consists of two old Korean words. "Haeoreumdal" (해오름달) is an ancient name for the first month of the year, literally meaning "the month of the rising sun." "Yeorire" (열이레) means "seventeen days."

The plot follows a narrative device common in the Chinese drama industry – time regression and revenge – but one that has rarely, if ever, been used in the Korean drama industry. The drama "Marry My Husband" starring Park Min Young comes to mind. However, in "Seventeenth Day of Rising Sun Month", the action will take place during the Joseon era.

The main character, Heo Seol Hee (played by Jung So Min), experiences a terrible tragedy – the annihilation of her entire family. Having lost her family and everything she had, she is given a chance at a new life: her consciousness is sent back in time, into her 20-year-old body. Armed with knowledge of future events, she begins a fierce struggle, sharpening her sword of revenge and trying at all costs to prevent the death of her loved ones.

Kim Yo Han will play Lee Hyeon – a mysterious man who lives in complete isolation from the outside world, behind the high walls of his house. Will he leave his refuge to help the main character, and what secrets does he hide?

The screenplay for "Seventeenth Day of Rising Sun Month" was written by Kim Eun Yoo. In 2023, the work won the Grand Prize at the 2nd KT Studio Genie Screenplay Contest. The judges praised the script, stating that "the charm of the characters and the narrative structure are so strong that this work will surely be loved by a wide audience."

The director is Park Won Guk, known for the hits "Marry My Husband" and "Spring Fever" (2026). Filming is set to begin later this year, with the premiere scheduled for 2027.

Kim Yo Han is currently focused on developing his acting career. In 2019, he won the idol survival show "Produce X 101", taking first place, but the project group X1 was disbanded due to the show's producers falsifying the voting results. He later promoted as a member of the group WEi, which has been on an indefinite hiatus since March 2026, though without being formally disbanded. He made his screen debut as a child actor in a small role in the famous series "Queen Seon Duk". "Seventeenth Day of Rising Sun Month" will be his first leading role in a period drama.
