On September 12, 2026, the Saturday-Sunday drama «A Love Other than Yours» (너 말고 다른 연애, Another Romance, Another Love But You) premiered on KBS2.

The lead roles were played by Seo Kang Joon («Entourage», «Cheese in the Trap») and Ahn Eun Jin («My Dearest, «Dynamite Kiss»). The drama consists of 14 episodes. International streaming is on Amazon Prime Video.

According to Nielsen Korea, the first episode earned a nationwide rating of 2.6%. This figure was lower than that of the channel's previous project - the drama «The Husband» with Namgoong Min, which started at 4.4% and ended at 8.5%.

Director Hwang Seung Gi, known for the dramas «The Matchmakers» and «Radio Romance», earlier at a press conference on September 7 expressed confidence that the project would top the ratings.

«A Love Other than Yours» will take leading positions in the ratings, says director Hwang Seung Gi

The plot revolves around Namgoong Ho (Seo Kang Joon) and Lee Mi Do (Ahn Eun Jin), who met at the age of seven, became friends and at 26 became a couple. After 10 years together, their relationship, once full of passion, has turned into quiet trust. Namgoong Ho works as an assistant manager at the large confectionery company Hunmin Confectionery and sees marriage as the natural next step. Lee Mi Do is a promising film director whose projects keep falling through. She loses confidence in herself. In the midst of a career crisis, her heart begins to waver. She falls for Han Tae Seung (Lee Joo Ahn), a lawyer at a law firm who takes on a case against the film company that fired Mi Do. Park Su A (Jo A Ram), a junior colleague at the confectionery with whom Namgoong Ho shares a special past, enters his life.

In an interview for Harper's BAZAAR, Seo Kang Joon and Ahn Eun Jin spoke about their characters and their views on long-term relationships. The actors noted that they were drawn to the realism of the story and its refusal to hide the characters' complicated emotions.

Ahn Eun Jin admitted that when she first read the script, she caught herself thinking: «What will happen to Mi Do now?», and felt that she could play this role well because she truly understood her character.

Seo Kang Joon, in turn, named «sacrifice» as the key word for understanding his character and noted that the drama tells a story of life and growing up very realistically through the theme of love. The actor convincingly played his character, conveying both the familiarity of a long-term relationship and the subtle emotional changes present in it. He showed both tenderness for his loved one and anxiety mixed with despair as the relationship begins to crumble.

Even the marriage proposal here is completely unconventional for dramas. In episode 2, Lee Mi Do coldly tells Namgoong Ho: «It's over between us». Namgoong Ho tries to hold her back, but Lee Mi Do describes a future in which they will weigh each other down and eventually hate each other. Namgoong Ho asks: «Why? Are you afraid? Is it scarier for you than breaking up with me? I'm scared too. But I can't break up with you. If you disappear from my life, that's the scariest thing of all. So I want to go with you. Whatever the end may be, even if we're both a mess, I still want to go. Marry me».

Overall, the drama explores the question: what happens to love after the initial passion fades. Namgoong Ho and Lee Mi Do are not a couple falling apart due to a lack of feelings, but a couple facing more complicated experiences precisely because they have been together for so long. The main intrigue of the drama remains the choice each character will ultimately make: separation or marriage.
